Hi

Am trying to use DSL as a thin client to connect to server using FreeNX client over SSH.
Works great except for multimedia support (ie audio).
When selecting the enable multimedia NX reports that the local audio server is not using network support.

Anyone know what this means.
Have added ALSA, gnu-utils etc from repositories.
Thanks

I have the same problem I think that to have multimedia suport one has to have the comercial vercion of NX not  freeNX , their web site claims to have forum suport for the non comercial server but so far I have not found any information.

Have successfully connected to the FreeNX Server (Ubuntu) from a windows FreeNX client and audio works fine which leads me to think its somthing missing from DSL.

I've got nxclient running under dsl and the sound (via nxesd) works just fine. I'm connecting to the freenx server. Your applications (server side) need to output to esound.

Hi

Good to know it does work.
At present I've set up the server to pipe sound to esd and this seems to work fine on the windows client.
Accrding to the nomachine website the Win32 client uses nxesd but linux potentially uses artsd.

Did you have to add any additional myDSL repositories to your DSL instance?
Any other useful pointers?

Thanks
