I asked what type of installation.  Anyways, to test it out, just boot from a fresh livecd and it should work without problems.

Oh ^^ I've got an hd-install ;) okee...I'll try it out with the live cd of DSL 4 RC1
Would it work with a frugal install better than with an hd-install?

Okee...here is the final report of how to get X.org on an hd-install (if any one is interested):

1. Get xorg.0.log and X.org from me or ^thehatsrule^ and mount it.
2. Copy /opt/xorg72 to /home/dsl
3. Unmount xorg72.uci
4. Copy /home/dsl/xorg72 to /opt/
5. delete /opt/xorg72/var/log
6. MkDir log and copy there xorg.0.log
7. su -
8. change /root/.xserverrc as explained in the info to xorg.uci
9. Control+Alt+Del
10. aterm (su): /opt/xorg72/bin/./Xorg -configure
11. su -

Thats it ^^ but you have only Xorg in root not in dsl. Dsl doesn't have enough power ;)

hm, it looks like the extension will need a bit of changing due to it looking for /ramdisk ... which doesn't exist under a hd-install.  Thanks for the testing under a hd-install ;p

comments on your steps:
1. Don't need to get a log file... its generated
9. why restart?  Could result in problems during next boot...
11. unneeded leftover step?

Add step 12.  Kill X and startx.

Just edit /home/dsl/.xserverrc, and you should be able to startx as user dsl.
