hello,
i have installed the wmdrawer, but i can't see any icons in the drawer . after checking the .wmdrawerrc an some testing i got it working by creating or downloading icons in the dimensions 32 x 32
the background-icon isn't stored in the extension.(not the big problem for me to create one, but probably for other users.)
The icons in .xtdesktop are 48 x 48 pixel. Is there a solution for this problem ?
how can i tell wmdrawer to handle the bigger icons?

thanx,lulu

I haven't used wmdrawer in a while, but I recall it fit the icons in  the icon space allocated for them (32x32 in my case). I don't remember editing my icons for that. I ran three drawers (instances) so I think I'd remember if I had to edit anything like that. Did you edit the right path to your icons in .wmdrawerrc?

If I'm mistaken above and you have to reduce the icons' size, you can edit them with either imagemagick (via commandline -- great if you have a lot of icons to convert and want to do them by directory) or GIMP (scale them individually). I would check the path(s) to your icons first.

when i start wmdrawer on a console i get following message:

wmdrawer warning: can't load image highlight.xpm
wmdrawer warning: can't load image sylpheed.png
wmdrawer warning: can't load image beaver.png
wmdrawer warning: can't load image cpanel.png
wmdrawer warning: can't load image ftp.gif
wmdrawer warning: can't load image mydslgui.png
wmdrawer warning: can't load image rdesktop.png
wmdrawer warning: can't load image vnc.gif
wmdrawer warning: can't load image flwriter.png
wmdrawer warning: can't load image siag.png
wmdrawer warning: can't load image xpdf.gif
wmdrawer warning: can't load image xpaint.png
wmdrawer warning: can't load image xzgv.png

and i checked the imagepath in .wmdrawerrc three times.
thnxx for the tip to convert icons, but if wmdrawer appears to other users ( with less experience ) similar, they will reject this beuatiful extension.....

And you're sure it was to /home/dsl/.xtdesk (assuming you keep your icons there -- or if you've added user to that path)? Did you make sure the file extensions (png, xpm) all match?

It's worked for me regardless of which distro I've used. I know the DSL version doesn't come with icons set up to the .xtdesk path, but I think I only edited the line and it worked.

hello again lucky13,
P R O B L E M    S O L V E D !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
20 years with mircosux made me blind.
the editor of the .wmdrawerrc made a little mistake:
# edited by ke4nt
# ke4nt[at]damnsmalllinux[dot]org
the names of the icons are written in lower case. linux is case sensitve and the iconnames in .xtdesktop are e.g.  Sylpheed.png
editing the iconslist fixed the problem .......

have a good night
