Hi all back from a while
shortly: i have a mini-itx system and i need to run an application (not commercial, made by a friend) on it; this app need gtk2, maybe also gnome (or just some gnome library) etc
i started looking into DSL last spring 'cause i had very tight requirements; then after an upgrade (expensive) i had more hdd space to use (1 gb!!!) and i used a stripped CentOS. all working fine.
  BUT
now i need the system working on a "ram only", i mean, something similar to frugal install i used on dsl
obviously first place where i looked at was dsl-n ('cause i need something not available into dsl, like gtk2, for instance)
but in this forum i read dsl-n is nomore supported, .iso are old (1 year old O.o) and someone saying gtk2 is not supported, neither apt-get, etc
can i start rebuilding my system with dsl-n (rebuilding application, rewrite configuration files, etc) or better i start searching a different distro?
