hsilvestro, para navegar, editar wikis, ver videos y cosas así te irán bien, pero yo tengo máquinas parecidas y el openoffice te va a ir lentííísimo (si es que te va).

Si no las necesitas funcionando solas podrías instalar Linux en una máquina más moderna y emplear las viejas como terminales ligeros con LTSP, PXES o TCOS.
