hello everyone
first off id like to say that DSL is very impressive.  so much so that i chose it as my distro for my celeron 400mhz 256mb ram gateway.  I have a CRAP monitor, and it runs great, which i cant say for SuSe... i was online in less than 3 mins, which i cant say for any version of windows....  its fast on my older hardware and i seriously want to use it full-time.  but anyways, i did a HD install and everything went perfectly, but now im having some problems...
it says that mkisofs is included in the latest release, but i cant find it anywhere, and when i download it and try to compile it using make, i get a command not found... as it turns out i cant find make anywhere either.  Am i missing something?  i had DSL loaded into RAM when i did the HD install, i dont know if that means anything  do some things just not get copied to the hard drive?

I don't know if the TORAM option or the HD Install script for Damn Small Linux Version 0.5.2 were the cause of your problem.

Are you sure that you downloaded version 0.5.2.iso?
Some of the DSL download mirror sites have not been updated yet and this new version just came out yesterday.

If you have the right version, you can get 'mkisofs' back by doing the following from an xterminal window after booting from the livecd. Make sure that hda? is replaced by the specific location of your hdinstall. For example, hda2 or hdb1 or something like that:

sudo su
mount /dev/hda?
cp /KNOPPIX/usr/bin/mkisofs /mnt/hda?/usr/bin
exit

Good Luck!

A HD install could be messed up if your system runs out of ram, so doing an install while using the toram option *could* be the trouble.
