Before I begin my new project, would like some experienced DSL advice/suggestions. Not asking for step by step instructions, just the easiest way to end up with my own "live CD" onto a CF disk.
Here's what I'm thinking:
- Install DSL liveCD to HD (perhaps not needed)
- Install and remove programs (using apt-get) - Install Samba (I don't think this is included in the liveCD) - Install GQview (slide show) - Install ImageMagick (graphics editor) - Install sshd (remote login) - Remove a bunch of un-needed apps.
- Configure everything - Xfree86 for dual monitor display - eth0 setup - add remove services/scripts - Create/Mount samba share
- Create a "liveCD" onto a CF disk with all these changes.
- Be able to boot from the CF disk read only (NO writing).
- Profit
I've read howto's on remastering and read a little about mkmydsl and dsl extensions. Confused about which of these options would be the easiest to end up with my own dsl on a CF. Thanks for any help/links/etc. d
