I am installing DSL with a boot floppy.  I get to the menu where I have a boot: prompt.  I press enter then it gives me this exact error " Can't find KNOPPIX filesystem, sorry.  Dropping you to a (very limited) shell.  Press reset button to quit."  What am I doing wrong?  Thenks in advance for the help!

I've narrowed it down to my CD-DRIVE, I think that I may have burned the CD at to high of a speed, or the drive is dead.  Is there a way I can tell?  When I load Windows on that computer and open  the CD-DRIVE there are no files listed, but the system detects that the CD is 48 MBs in size.  I will try another the slowest speed and report back with what happens.

If you can't see it in Windows either then it is probably a bad CD burn.

Usually, slower is better and CD-R disks are better than CD-RW disks

I have a 14x drive so I burned a 10x disk and it didn't work so I think the drive is dead.

Either that or maybe you got a bad batch of CD-R disks.
Or maybe your CD burner program does not burn ISO images correctly.

From MSWindows, I've had good success with Nero and with Fuji (MADE IN JAPAN on the label) CD-R disks.
