Hi there,

I cannot install on VMWare 5.0. What have I done wrong here:

1. booted the live-CD
2. performed "sudo cfdisk /dev/hda
3. created a swap and a linux partition
4. performed "sudo dsl-hdinstall"
5. The script starts and I'm installing a multiuser system on /dev/hda1 which gets formatted with ext2
6. Boot-Loader is going to be GRUB
7. The machine says that a reboot is necessary

Result: After Reboot nothing happens.

The idea was to test DSL in VMWare before trying it on a real machine which I have at home. It's a Pentium 166 with 700MB HD. Therefore the VMWare machine has this parameters:

RAM 64MB
HD 700MB
Bus IDE

Any Ideas?

In VMware new virutal machine: choose custom
Choose IDE
After initial boot up open shell and start cfdisk
Partition hda/write both primary and swap
Quit when done.  Reboot
*As the VMware screen is booting hit f2; go to boot options and move boot from cdrom to top of list.  Save and exit.
DSL will then boot from the cdrom again.
Your partitions are prepared from previous boot and your using cfdisk.
Right click/Apps/Tools/Install to Hard Drive
Reboot again: this time hit f2 again and change the boot order back to boot from hard drive.  This should do it.  It worked for me.
