go to the bios and choose boot from cd..put dsl in the cd drive and reboot this will load dsl .choose your boot options. or wait and it will run via ram.. if your bios does not offer boot from cd then rawrite the boot.img from the repository to a floppy and boot with dsl in cd drive and the boot floppy in the floppy drive..this is an operating system so do not think it will run for you inside windows but may run as an option with windows as dual boot..you will need a linux partition if you intend to run or install from hd..linux version fdisk is used for this..and is included ..that's all I got..hope it helps

I dont know if im right or not, but when you start the computer, keep hitting insert  or delete.. im not 100% sure, but it should bring up the system bios.

The bios is on the motherboard..they vary but many also use the "del" key or an F key..many will offer a wait time and ask if you want to enter setup..ie: press del to enter setup. watch the text when your computer is starting for something like that. once in the bios you can change several settings..look for boot options..a/c/cd/usb...older units usually boot a the floppy then c the hard drive..newer machines have options for cd and usb.etc..be careful with advanced settings..if the option for cd is not available be sure it boots a then c and use a boot floppy...good luck
