When rebooting after HD install, the computer hangs at "preparing for reboot" and does nothing.

So, I do the alt-ctrl-del to give it a little push and I get

         INIT: cannot execute "/etc/init.d/knoppix-halt"

What is this about and how do I correct it?

Sam/adhi.

I may consider my problem solved now although I don't know why except for voodoo.

Anyway, not claiming that these did it but since my post:

1) Subsequent shutdown/reboot after initial install now work gracefully.

2) Only change I did since then is partition my HD to hda1 3.5g and hda2 .5g swap.

I don't think that #2 really is of any consequence, but it is a major change from my HD original state.

I have been fiddling with the sound for the last 4 hours, but I haven't modded anything except the bootlocal.sh.

Good Luck!
