Cbagger01 - thanks, but the problem is the missing math coprocessor. The kernel doesen't find it and panics....
I may get the source an recompile it myself, just to try. :)

Skaos - thanks, i'll give it a try. Up to now the Thing has run a MuLinux, and it also works fine with HAL91 - they are just a bit old.

Another possibility:
Is it possible to take out the disk and put it into another PC? If so, you can do a hard disk install, replace the kernel (and modules) with e.g. the lowmem kernel from slackware 10.x and then put it back. I haven't actually tried it, but in principle it should work.

No math coprocessor?

Give DSL version 0.5.3.1 a try.  It should have builtin match coprocessor emulation.
