Each time I boot it is necessary for me to run xsetup to get the mouse to work. How do I save these settings?

The "getting started" page on Dillo and a number of the posts mention the .xinitrc file, however I cannot find it on my installation (using where).

Where do I find it? Am I on the right track?

Use backup/restore to save your X settings. They are contained in
the file .xserverrc and that should already be in the default filetool.lst

If you have a serial mouse, then you will need to add a line to your /opt/bootlocal.sh file

ln -sf /dev/ttyS0 /dev/mouse

where ttyS0 = com1, ttyS1 = com2, ... Use appropriate "com".

Make sure that the file opt/bootlocal.sh is in your filetool.lst and then backup.

You hit the nail on the head with the serial mouse. Works a treat now.

I should have mentioned that I am resurrecting a Pentium 133/ 32 MB, jam packed with antiquated features. My intention is to create a machine that can work with a gui but not at a snail's pace. So far DSL seems to be doing the trick. I had tried Mandrake 9.0 which was easy to get working but it was just too slow.

Yes ico2, it is a HD install but the machine is dedicated to DSL at the moment.
