Hi,

I'm new to Damn Small Linux and I installed it on a old Toshiba Sattelite 220CS (Pentium 75 - 80Mb of RAM - 1.4 Go hard drive). My laptop is running well (although I think USB and sound aren't working), but I tried to modify /etc/fstab and /etc/lilo.conf but when I reboot my laptop, nothing has changed and the files look like the old ones.

Can someone help me ?

Thanks !

Greg

First what kind of install did you do(frugal or harddrive)? For the fstab you need to put the changes above the #added by knoppix line for them to stay. For lilo you must run the command lilo in terminal to activate changed settings.

Thanks for your reply.

I did a harddrive install. Please tell me if I was wrong.

I'll try this evening on my laptop. It also seemed that my user profile couldn't be saved, because every time I reboot my computer, my background isn't saved.
