If i boot from live cd my usb stick is recognized and read / write. If i boot in either frugal or hd install it isnt recognized ... i just get : "usb-ohci.c unlink URB timeout sb.c: USB device not accepting new address" at boot after usb re-check. Ive done lsusb and get : "Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:00000 " but at reboot i get "/proc/bus/usb unmounted". This is very frustrating, seeing as I thought a frugal install was just like running from live cd. apparently not. Thanks in advance for the tips.

I've got a similar problem.
I've installed DSL on hd and the usb port doesn't work anymore.
Nothing works. The computer doesn't even turn the power on.
So i've got no idea, how to get the usb port running.
I've tried several reboots and let several usb devices in the port at boot time.
But nothing helped.
So, how can i turn the port and usb support on?
I've got the latest stabel version.

it's a long shot, but i would try dsl-2.1 or dsl-n, they have
different kernels.
