Well, I'm new here so forgive me my stupid questions
I bought an old Toshiba Portege 300CT on ebay (no cdrom, no net) and managed to do a HD-Install with only the floppy drive (keeping the Win98 intact). I haven't figured out the right keyboard and how to set the correct screen resolution (1024x600 I guess), but that's not so important right now.
I wanted to "Upgrade to GNU Utils" and I obviously get the message that the files could not be downloaded. I copied them with a USB stick to /home/dsl, but when I retried, the script tried to download ...
Now (finally ) to my questions: - How can I Upgrade to GNU Utils without an internet connection? - How can I determine which script is run when I choose some menu? - I copied files from /mnt/sda1 and they showed the right size, but after some time when I check again, the showed up as 0 bytes. What happened?
Thanks for your help Werner
