hey guys
I have dsl up and running on a livecd. However, I want to boot this off the HDD. However, when I try to follow the steps on the wiki page, it seems to fail. I have tried /dev/fda, /dec/sda and so on. I tried booting from fedora core and it found my HDD. it showed it as /dev/cciss
any ideas how i can try to get dsl to recognize my hdd.

thanks in advance.

Drives in raid?

If so, I haven't seen anyone using DSL with that.. but maybe taking the (if available) software raid modules from knoppix.  If your manufacturer has specific drivers, you could try compiling them I guess.  Don't know much about this mostly because I've never used them.

We just got an HP server with a HP raid controller where the disks show up as /dev/cciss (on a Centos installation). I think that you need the cciss module built into the kernel and I would guess that the DSL kernel doesn't come with this. You can run "fdisk -l" (without quotes) as root from the live CD to find out if DSL sees any disks.
