From a running dsl system I attemped a hard disk install to hda5 formatted as ext3. During the install process there was indication that two files were not found , also there was an message presented that indicated that ext2 should have been the selected fs. The install screen disappeared when I tried to copy the screen content into a file. I don't know if my attempt to copy system messages and my responses was valid or in fact caused a system error. The attempt to same the screen content was as follows: Selected Grub as the boot loader cut the visible portion of the screen opens a vertual terminal initiated a vi session attempt to paste did not respond the install screen vanished from screen otherwise the running dsl copy seemd to function normally My objected is to have a hard copy log of the install process to accurately rerport problems.
