I'm trying to instal DSL on an old Dell XPi using the instructions posted by roberts. Everything is copacetic until I issue the command

./frugal_lite.sh

at which point the response is: permission denied

Help!

Anyways, you'll probably either need to
- make this executable (chmod +x)
- run this as root (sudo)
- or both.

It's probably easier to use the menu system though.

I gave the example in the parenthesis... did you point it to the script file?

This isn't DOS so don't worry ;p (I don't think it has the exec permission)

Actually, the script - frugal_lite.sh - didn't work properly. Either the download site was busy, or there was an error in the script.

However, using a copy of the script for reference, I followed the steps, downloading the .iso and .img files from ftp://ftp.heanet.ie and installing them according to the script commands. So far so good! I was able to boot using the floppy according to 6/26 post of roberts, and perform a harddrive install.

After rebooting to the hard drive and going through all the preliminaries, I gey a response:

fatal IO error 104 (connection reset by peer) on X server ":0.0" after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 resets remaining.

Help!?
