You don't have to run mkswap and swapon - I think DSL does that for you during the installation. You can run swapoff /dev/hda1 to switch off swap and then run the installation script.

anyway i choose[g]rub now ask me to reboot and now well,
what's the difference?
i still have to run with the cd inside
my hd is still really full of old stuff
