So I booted DSL to the live CD, created a swap partition (hdc1) and boot partition (hdc2), and and selected "install to hard drive" from the "Apps -> Tools" menu. I followed the directions, selecting "Grub MBR", and "no" (when asked if I had Windows installed on the drive).

When I reboot, I'm greeted with the word "GRUB" on a blank screen and a flashing cursor.

I'm a complete Linux noob... I searched the Wiki and forums, and didn't find anything to help. What do I do now?  ???

Grub is discussed in the Wiki.
It is the difference between a traditional hard drive install and frugal.
The default is frugal.

I had an issue with grub when I did the traditional install (v3.1). The install program asked me if I wanted to install grub or lilo. I selected grub. The grub installer returned an error (something about not being able to mount the partition or something). I thought: "no matter, I'll choose lilo instead," but the installer failed to catch the error, and didn't provide any opportunity to rectify the problem. I ended up just repeating the whole install. Perhaps this issue with the installer could have some relation to this problem?
