new to LINUX and looking to install DSL on HD.  What file/s should I download to install?  Is the current.iso all that is needed or do I need to down load more such as dsl-3.2.iso and others as well?  Please help......

The current iso may be all you need - it depends on your set up (if you have to install using a floppy, etc).

The best place to start is the DSL wiki.

if the standard .iso file wont boot for you, u can try the .iso with syslinux. Several old thinkpads prefer the syslinux.

kore.
