What files would i have to edit to quiet down the boot process some?

I'd like to make the boot process a little less talkative.

I read somewhere about commenting out the "echo" lines, but I don't know which files I need to do this for.

Any help would be appreciated,
Thanx

/etc/init.d/knoppix-autoconfig
/etc/init.d/dsl-config

You might also want to try some boot options to disable certain boottime hardware checks
