I have a small harddrive (1.5GB) and am having issues with it. It used to have Windows 98 on when I got it out of a old 486.

I have put it in my old computer and am trying to get DSL on it (Only dsl)

I did manage to get DSL-N on it yesterday but when I read it is not updated much and the last of programs I thought I would try to get DSL on it... Or Puppy Linux.

But now I have tried to get DSL on it it always gives me a grub error and now as I have messed around tith it I always get errors when trying to install.

When i try to use cfdisk and try to make a partition i follow the instructions but I get names like this

hda1p1
hda1p2

But when I try to install I get errors about a BLOCK.

Any help would be great... I think here might be something I am missing... Thanks for reading

EDIT:
I just tried to use cfdisk and got this error
Code Sample
FATAL ERROR: Bad primary partition 2: Partition begins after end-of-disk
Press any key to exit cfdisk

FATAL ERROR: Cannot open disk drive
Press any key to exit cfdisk

I just tried that but got the same error.... I think if i reboot and type install cli i might be able to get rid of them. But even if i do i still get hda1 and no hda... is this normal?

dafunks,
Please show us the exact command you are using for cfdisk.

Is it cfdisk /dev/hda ...or something else?
