I have flashed my BIOS with the fast boot rom bios so I can boot from my compact flash card. I have recompiled my kernel and created my initrd image. I used mkelfImage to create the boot image which contains both the kernel and initrd image. When I boot everything seems to go fine except for some "kmod: /sbin/modprobe" errors and finally a kernel panic error, "Unable to start initial console" I built my kernel on a different computer and have been able to boot that machine with the kernel, but just not on the via m2. I am using kernel version 2.4.18, since that is the version used in the documents that came with the fast boot rom. For the command line parameter passed to mkelfImage I am using "toram rw root=/dev/hde1". Any ideas and where to go from here?
Thanks Harry
