Comments: This is the full version of the Midnight Commander.
It includes features such as subshell support, virtual
filesystems, and built-in editor, not available in DSL.
The included user menu (F2) includes some DSL-specific
actions well as most of the standard MC actions. Some
of the standard actions won't work in DSL unless you
install additional software. Some virtual filesystems,
such as deb and zip, also do not work unless you use
a newer version of perl (the scripts that control these
may be replaced by bash scripts in a future release).
In order to use a subshell (Ctrl+o) as a non-root user
in a typical DSL system, /dev/ptmx must be writeable for
that user. You can accomplish this by adding the user to
the 'tty' group, chmod 664 /dev/ptmx,and chown root.tty
/dev/ptmx. Check out the commands "groups" and "usermod"
for help in doing this.
An easier but much less secure method is to leave the
user's groups as they are and chmod 666 /dev/ptmx.
I do not recommend the second method.

Hello,
I`m read the Info.
When I try to use MC I`m root.
But I`m understand the handling with *.uci Extensions.
My System ia a HD-Installation (not frugal) and I wan't to have a Debian like System.
What must I do to have MC in DSL 4.2.5?
