Hi,
I'm trying to install DSL on a 128 MB IDE Harddisk (transcend).
It seems that there is not enough space for the installation.

Does someone have some experiences with this or is this not possible because of the low memory space?

Thanks
Ralf

Damn Small Linux is a compressed image file on the cd which is 50mb, when uncompressed it's considerably larger. A solution I'd say would be to boot with the DSL cd, then mount the 128mb hard drive, have the cdrom mounted and copy everything off the cd and not use dsl hd-install. Then use mkliloboot to setup lilo on the hdd.

Bit of a brief solution, and DSL will run as if it were a cd off the hdd meaning you can't write to it. You could go all out and have all the read/write stuff uncompressed like /etc and others so you can modify settings, but leave things you don't really need to write to as an image. Someone else can explain this stuff better because I'm still new to linux :P
