I am a newbie at DSL, but I am very annoyed because when I first boot from the CD, and DSL asks me to press enter to start process, I press enter on my wireless USB keyboard and it works. Then DSL goes through it's boot process, and when I finally get to the main desktop screen, my mouse and keyboard don't work. Is there a way to somehow disable USB config so that it works exactly like the enter screen? I also have a PS/2 mouse installed and when I move it it goes to the screen that the USB config, processor, and stuff was set up, before it went visual, and I get the error

Failed to load groupfile:
Screen: :BScreem: managing screen 0 using visual 0x21, depth 24

Also, the keyboard obviosly works, because when I type in this terminal like state weird things like [^G] come up.

Please help me... :)

first off, *ahem*

Welcome to the Revolution!!!

okay, as for disabling usb detection, at the boot prompt, type "dsl nousb" without the quotes of course. ^_^

second, you don't HAVE to press enter for it to boot, after 30 seconds, if i remember correctly, it boots the default settings.

as for your error, that has nothing to do with your mouse, that's just the messege that the Kdrive X server gives. don't worry about it, everyone has that, and X still starts, so its all good.

also, if the nousb option doesn't work, you can always go out and pick up a cheap ps/2 keyboard for less than $3 US.

EDITUS: also, you may have to turn on usb keyboard support in your bios. depending on what bios you have it might be called Usb keyboard emulation or even something else.

They say if you play a Microsoft CD backwards, you hear satanic messages. That's nothing, cause if you play it forwards, it installs Windows.
