I use the live CD 0.9.3 to delete the dsl already on my HD. Then I formatted it. I did "dsl-hdinstall" to "hda10", told it to "make lilo boot". When I reboot, I get the old lilo. I have tried replacing all the "lilo.conf" on all the linux drives with the new lilo for now, but can't get dsl to boot. How can I get it to redo without reinstalling all 4 linux drives?? I copied linux24 from the CD to "/boot/" on the dsl drive. The old lilo says that. I just cant get setup to run on dsl. Please, thanks for any help & for your time.

Got setup to work right. Use floppy-boot. Now just the problem of having 3 of all icons on desktop. I'm sure reboot will cure that... I am writing from dsl.. How do I make the keyboard less touchy. I look at it hard & it types. Like I've said, not quite a newbie, but whatever is next. Thanks.

I'm in Win98SE now. DSL only shows "emelfm" & internet icons. It won't show any of the others. ".xtdesktop" has all the links & gif or png's to go with them. Hell, I don't know. If need be I'll re-install from the ground up. Any ideas. Thank you for your time and trouble.

Maybe your lnk and gif/png files are not owned by username "dsl" group "staff".

It is possible that you somehow copied old files with owner "damnsmall" or even "root".

You may need to chown or chmod them to get them to look like your working icon files.
