I use rawrite32, which has an easy GUI interface for us n00bs.
:P
What you want to do is drag the Knoppix folder into your drive C (NOT program files or any other subfolder of drive C) so that you have C: knoppix(folder)>knoppix(file).
Then you put the boot floppy you created with rawrite32 from the image you downloaded from the dsl site into your floppy drive and reboot.
What you have will be essentially the same as if you were running off a CD; this has its advantages, as you get a fresh start with every boot and can't really do anything to hurt your system.
As far as installing to your hard drive so that you can save files, myDSL extensions, etc.....well....I'm just starting to work on that one myself so I'll have to get back to you.
HTH
-------------- Sorry, I don't do windows.
