When i try  the usb cdrom only the message "debian ..." and then the system reboot and this process is looping unitl i unplug the usb cdrom. I tried vectorlinux fedora linux as well and every time the same problem, only suse linux 9.1 or 9.2 are booting with my acer. so where is the problem and how do i get a hd install?

I search the net and find out that it is not simple for linux to boot from usb-floppy drives. Do you know if it should be possible to boot from a usb-floppy with the bootusb-08.img from dsl mirrors? If so then of course it should be problem with my special hardware; If not for what ist the bootusb-08.img file? I would be glad if you could give me a short answer.
