I'm reviving this thread now that 1.3 is out and you have a frugal grub install.

Roberts,
Would you say the new frugal install is *safe* to use on a machine that has XP Pro installed on hda1?

Will the result automatically set up a dual boot option?

My current setup has hda2=swap, hda3=frugal, hda4=backup/optional/etc.  Currently booting from livecd and then doing a fromhd=/dev/hda3 but I want to get away from that if I can.

Thanks in advance for any insights.....

BTW....1.3 looks (and runs) really nice...

Yes. My test machine has Windows XP Pro on hda1 and frugal grub worked fine.

Thanks for posting the follow-up and that all is well!

Folks, frugal_grub for multi OS hard drive frugal installs.

The original frugal_install, i.e., frugal_lilo is OK for Compact Flash or other dedicated "appliance" type systems.
