Whell basically I had been using DSL for 5 days  :D, so Im not a guru in this yet. Im mounting a full new office (Due my extremelly low budget, I start evaluating Live Linux CDs), This office will have 20 machines (all the same hardware, IE same MB model, Ram, CPU, everiting exactly equal). I have succesfully installed 1 DSL at the HD (for a test pc).

But is there any way to do the same at the other 20 stations with out downloading starofice, config and all other MyDSL plugs/apps I chose, and setup the same in the 20 stations?? like a full HD CLONE (so i just place one by one) at one station and clone all hd data to the other 20 stations HD, so if I just plug it in the other statiosn it will work as if all was already installed??

Thanks!

Two ways.

1) Use a program like partimage or "Ghost for Unix - aka G4U" or "Ghost for Linux - aka G4L".

2)  Either do an "enhanced" hd install or instead download the gnu-utils.dsl extension.  Then use the dd commandline program to clone the hard drive.  You can either physically connect the slave hard drive and directly clone it, or save the data to an image file and then restore the file to you new PC, or you can do a direct PC-to-PC clone using livecd and this method:

Just make sure to boot both of your machines using a livecd, like DSL or Knoppix.  You should not have your hard drives mounted while doing the cloning process.

For IDE hard drives, the primary master drive is "hda" and the primary slave drive is "hdb", while for SCSI or USB hard drives, the first one is "sda" and the second one is "sdb".

Keep in mind that you should rename each computer's hostname after you finish the cloning process and boot it up for the first time.
