My apologies - I'm sure this is covered in another post, but I've done a bunch of searches and can't seem to find this topic:
I did a hard drive install from a DSL 0.7.3 CD using the "noicons" option at the CD boot to prevent loading the enhanced desktop. Running DSL from the hard drive, however, still defaults to the full enhanced desktop and I'd like to disable the icons and tools.
Can this be done by editing /home/dsl/.xinitrc? I can #-out the line in this file to prevent loading Dillo/Getting Started, but I'm confused about what's happening with the "if" & "fi" lines and when I've tried to # these out I only prevent X from loading. Is .xinitrc the key or do I look elsewhere?
Many thanks.
