I did a hard disk install.  it seems that the system will go into standby or hibernate.  I don't won't to have to type the option in each time the system boots.  How do I permanently disbale this but still leave the ability to have the shutdown/ reboot work?

And, yes, I've searched and found nothing that I can see addresses this.
