I only recently came across DSL and my first tryout was with DSL 0.9.3. After lots of 'suck it and see' I learned how to get some programs (HamRadio stuff) that I wanted, which were outside of the MyDSL structure,  up and running. This was using 'apt'. Then I found that, in fact, DSL was up to the 1.4 version and I duly got that up and running and then used the same recipe to install the radio programs. But, to my dismay, the programs seemed to be missing some parts. Being fairly new to DSL and Linux I was a bit lost. The only difference that I could see was the offer of 'Enhanced' install under 0.9.3 and I can see the script that offers this. This is in 'dsl-hdinstall' but 'Enhanced' is not offered under 1.4. If I can find how to do it can I replace the 1.4 script with this older one or is this just too simplistic !!??? Back in 0.9.3 now and all OK but a nice looking DSL 1.4 beckons! For any help many thanks....

The 'enhanced' version of the hdinstaller in 0.9.3
automatically loaded the gnu-utils.dsl during the install.

You can accomplish the same thing by adding it to your
install thru the myDSL icon, or the repository, after your
successful install..

What apps are you using in DSL for ham radio,
that aren't already in the DSL repository?

I'd be happy to try to add them for current and future radio operators.

Well up to a point that all worked very well. I used MyDSL to obtain several of the ham radio programs in the list, all with no trouble. I had previously got the gnu-utils, as suggested, by the same method and, after the aforementioned downloads  I am sure I got it right. So I tried to get my other program (the one that started this Linux ball rolling for me) by using atp-get etc.... all went well until things were thrown by a by a prompt that the setting up was being halted because the next step would need 'apt::force-loopbreak option'. I am stuck at this point being unsure of what to do. Any help would be appreciated..  apropos of the program I am trying to get, this one is 'gMFSK'. The version I am trying to get is 0.6-9 which does a number of modes though I know there is an even later version -0.7pre1 but this is at testing level still. Many thanks in advance....   most impressed with DSL and the MyDSL system !!! 73s  GW4CTV
