Does anyone know a way to get dsl to detect SATA harddrives?
I'm using a K8T-NEO AMD 64 mother board and cfdisk dosen't show any hard drives or partitions. :)

Does this help:

http://damnsmalllinux.org/cgi-bin....hl=sata

FYI, about 90% of the MSI boards I have ever used have had to be returned.  The others didn't last more than 18 months.  I haven't bought MSI in about 4 years so they may be better now, but I don't trust them.

Good Luck,

FYI,

Based on the DSL2.0RC1 kernel config file, SATA support was not switched "ON" before kernel compiling.  I could be wrong, but it appears that SATA is still not supported in 2.0RC1. So you still need to use something like Troniks unofficial DSL remaster in order to use SATA controllers.

It is unfortunate, because in my opinion SATA support is the single most important reason why the DSL kernel should be updated.  As we speak, hundreds of thousands of SATA-based computers are being built and sold, led by Dell (of course).  Now that there appears to be a new "standard" SATA controller interface called AHCI it means that we should be future-proofed for the next generation PCs if the AHCI SATA driver is selected to be compiled into the newest 2.4.x kernel.
