I'd like to have a regular hard drive install of DSL linux (or any linux, for that matter), but onto a USB flash drive. I tried it, and it started out fine. It accepted /dev/sdb1 (my pen drive) as the partition to install to, created the file system, copied the data to it, proceeded smoothly like a normal installation, etc. But the last step, where it requires a reboot to finish the installation, I can't get it to boot. My BIOS only supports USB-ZIP booting. I'm wondering if I had support for USB-HDD booting would it work? Given the fact that I don't, is anyone aware of a bootloader, that I could install on a bootable floppy or CD, that is USB aware, such that I could just direct it to boot the OS found on /dev/sdb1 (the usb pen drive)?
If anyone can shed some light on the topic, I'd be grateful. Thanks.
