i have installed to hd booting with a floppy after copying the dsl files to the c:/hda1 on my hard drive. All seems to go well until i boot where it locks ups totally(after the x boots) the cpu is tunning a 90% and the mouse hardly moves.. what settings should i use for a system like this when configuring.

the system is a  

acer note lite 731

Intel Pentium 120MHz (Bus 33 MHz)
RAM-16 MB EDO
Vid-Cirrus Logic 65550-1 Mb
LCD 11.3" STN 800x600 8bit
Hard Disk Drive 1.0 GB-IBM/DSOA-21080 2.5" 12.5MM
Floppy Disk Drive

partion
hda1 ex2-600mb
hda2 fat32-100mb
hda3-fat32100mb (copied dsl files)

It could just be the amount of ram. I believe that the minimum to run a graphical interface is 16mb. You can try using the 'minimal' theme from the menu and killing any of the doc apps that you dont use. Also a swap partition would probably help.
Not sure if this is the whole problem, but it should help.

Also, please create a DOS swapfile or Linux swap partition.  64MB would be a good size.
