I downloaded the latest version (0.7.1) and tried to boot it on a dual P1 166, but it wouldn't boot from the CD.  I tried to take the boot.img file and put it on a floppy, but it wouldn't copy, says the disk is full.  The disk isn't full, it is blank.  Freshly formatted, 1.44 MB.  I tried using win95 to copy the image, and i tried my main Debian install, but nothing worked.  The image won't fit on to the floppy for some reason.  Any help?  I really want to get this old beast up and runnin :)

Also, is it possible to make DSL entirely Debian compatible by removing the stuff that isn't and replacing it with Debian packages?  What packages aren't compatible?

Ok, I got the system booted.  How do you do a HD install?

When I try to partition the hard drive with cfdisk, I get this message:

FATAL ERROR: Cannot open disk drive
Press any key to exit cfdisk

What's that all about?  The hard drive is running Win95, and is 1.5 GB in size.

A couple of questions:
1) is the disk mounted?  DSL auto-detects your drives, and a win95 disk can be mounted as vfat.  Unmount the disk and try again.
2) If you're in DSL, the hard drive isn't really running anything.
3) When you get it working, remmeber to split your partitions - at least a root and boot.  Just good practices.
