Right, after some serious reading I've decided to post my help request. Here's some info for ya...

A- I run an HD install on a P150 machine.

1- I need audacity (or equivalent app) to record vinyl to HD and make mp3 comps.

2- I got the sound working (although I'm not really sure how, thanks to this thread Thank you ke4nt1!!!

3- I've tried to run alsa setup to no avail, mainly because (I believe) and alsaconfig countless times, and I always
get some sort of errors

4- I've run snddevices from the alsasetup folder and now Audacity fires up with no errors but... I cannot record!!!
There's no sign of HD activty although the mic VUmeter are blocked to 0db -> The settings shown on the Audio i/o tab  from the prefs. are Playback Device /dev/dsp and the same for Recording...

I dunno...

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Marco
