I was wondering if dsl used a sound daemon, or if it comes with one that just isn't turned on? I've noticed that the sound card gets monopolized by the first app to use it outside of the system beeps, so unless i want to listen to my music, i end up with mute games or a mute firefox, and if i want the game sound fxs or music from a flash player, then i can't use xmms to play music.
And if not, has anyone compliled and successfully ran one?
