These locations are all OK:Code Sample | /home/dsl/.mozilla/plugins /home/dsl/.mozilla/firefox/********.default/plugins /usr/local/firefox/plugins |
Steps: 1. Put flashplayer.xpt and libflashplayer.so into any of the directories above. 2. Restart Firefox. 3. Check the list of installed plugins at about:plugins.
DSL's Firefox runs with Flash 7 only. Flash 9 needs Firefox to be compiled against GTK2.
Flash 7 can still be downloaded from adobe.com in a zip file. This zip file contains multiple revisions of the player, for web authors to test their Flash movies, so it is very big: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get....ive.zip (Found on this page: http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14266)
Just the latest revision: install_flash_player_7_linux_r73.tar.gz [1.0M] (30-second wait required.)
Might this file be hosted on the DSL FTP as a convenience?
