Hello I had a keyboard that as almost all of the new keyboards out there has special "Multimedia Keys", I really dont use ALL OF THEM but I use some functions very much!

Like the Music Controllers Next> <Prev  || Pause
But most of all THE Calculator button

I noticed that this buttons dont work in DLS, is there any lib, util or any kind of software to install in to DSL ?? to activate or create links for that buttons?? or in other distros so I can try to make it work in DSL ??

Thanks!

Try using the xkeycaps.dsl extension to remap your multimedia keys.

This extension should be appearing in the "Testing" area of the myDSL repository soon.

That would be sweet if it works.  none of the us/pc keymaps in DSL work for the multimedia buttons on my logitech keyboard, and i don't have a clue how the whole thing works =o)

xkeycaps is just a front-end GUI for the xmodmap command, but it has predefined keyboard layouts for dozens of different keyboards.

It is possible to use xmodmap or even the fluxbox keys configuration to use your multimedia keys, but you need to figure out what the keycode is for each button.

I see.
If there is no keymap which supports multimedia keys, I don't see how xmodmap can help.  The xev program gets nothing from those buttons, so there is no keycode to map.
