When running DSL via CD on my laptop, flashplayer support in FireFox is excellent. I did a hard drive install and discovered flash player was no longer available. Using APPS/NET/Browsers/Get Firefox Flash Plugin, I downloaded the flash player plugin. The flash player does not work properly though. It shows a few frames but then Firefox locks up and the only way out is to KILL Firefox. However, after a KILL, Firefox refuses to reload. It says Firefox is already running. I am forced to reboot the laptop before I am able to use Firefox again.
I checked out /opt/firefox_plugins. The .so for flashplayer is there, along with the .so for java. Java works fine but flash locks up during it's play. I note that the .so for java is highlighted in blue in emelfm. The .so for flash is green. Does this indicated a problem?
I also went to Macromedia and downloaded the flash from there and tried it but the results are the same. Flash starts, runs a few seconds but then everything locks up. Any known issues, etc?
