I'm really liking DSL...  it installed on my older PII/128 like a breeze...

Here's the problem...  I'm used to running FC3, so I have to do a little re-thinking here with a Debian type box...

When I play XMMS for a while - I stream radio streams with it - the player plays well for about 2 hours, then it gets skips and bumps in the stream.  I don't get this with the FC3 box...

Anyone out there know how to change the buffer or cache size?

Margni

Right-click on the XMMS window.

Choose the MPEG Layer 1/2/3 input plugin from the "Audio I/O Plugins" tab and press the configure button

Click on the "Steaming" tab.

The buffer size and pre buffer percent settings are at the top of the window.

cbagger...

I got in and changed the following

Buffer size from 128kb to 512kb, and the buffer's percentage from 25 to 50%...

I'll run it a while and report back...  Thanks!

By changing the settings It gets rid of the rumbles and what seem like skips in the stream...

On the other hand , it takes a little longer to load the stream into memory.  But that's not much - say 10/12 seconds, v 6/7 seconds.  The extra wait is worth the clean streaming...

Thanks!!!
