Quote (roberts @ Dec. 12 2005,12:15) | Then may I assume that a Microsoft base station does not respond to a dhcp request?
If you boot your system with dsl nodhcp
Then go directly to the Prism2 GUI and enter your info. This should work if the base station responds to dhcp requests.
Then the prism2 gui creates a myprism2.sh script, which can be added to your filetool.lst for persistenancy. |
all i know is that when i booted with the 1.5 disk, the prism2 button works almost immediately, and im on the the net..
when i first tried the 2.0 disk, the opening boot sequence shows that the system is trying to use the card manager to get the wireless info, but it stops and says that it cant because the item is temporarily unavailable.
so, when i reboot now, and login as 'expert', i just go step by step, accepting all the defaults, im then able to get to the desktop, and go thru the control panel to set it up....
but, as the second part of my question goes, im not sure how to save these configs...
for example, i have a multisession puppy linux cd allows me to boot up, remove the cd from the drive and used other disks in that drive, then when i am done, i put the puppy linux cd back in, shutdown and it saves my session to the cd so it can reboot to that one when i use it again....
isnt that possible with dsl 2.0? how do i save my config? for example, after i originally go the wireless up, i downloaded some apps and there they were on the desktop, but i dont know how to save them...is this only possible by installing to the hd???
