I'm new to DSL. I have an old Compaq 1270 which I want to use with DSL. I have DSL 2.0 on CD-ROM and it boots fine and managed to get it installed to boot from hard disk too. I got the SMC 2632W v2 EZ Connect™ wireless card since it is listed as "working out of the box" with DSL. How do I configure this to work? I am using a Linksys WRT54G which supports WEP and enable/disabling of SSID. Is there a way in DSL to search for networks like the utility from Linksys does on Windows?

When it boots up, both lights come on the SMC 2632W v2 when the card manager acknowleges the card. I tried the control panel options in DSL panel but it gives the message there is no wireless card.

I would greatly appreciate help with this. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your reply. Version 2 is listed on this forum as working out of the box. This is a shame, I got this card because it was on the working out of the box list.

I guess with the effort on that web page, it can be made to work, so it sounds much more involved than just plugging it in and changing the settings. I don't see a C compiler on DSL 2.0, so compiling any drivers is going to take some effort. Cross-compiler?

ifconfig -a with the SMC card installed in the PCMCIA outputs this:
