New to Linux.
Loaded DSL to a compaq deskpro en. The modem is a diamond:SupraExpress 56i PRO. (DONT LAUGH). It works under windows, but no joy when using DSL.

The modem is plugged into an extension riser. (compaq)

I tried a command I found on the forum

"dmesg | grep tty -A 2 -B 2"
But this returns nothing, going straight back to the prompt.

Any ideas?

This is a Rockwell, HCF 56k Controllerless modem.
That is a dreaded winmodem.
I don't have enough hours in a day to compile all the modules for all these particular winmodems. Nor do I have access to each device for testing. Maybe the community will decide to contribute some of these winmodem modules. Otherwise you would have to get a real modem.
