Ok...how about having a DSL laptop sitting in my house(wireless connection to signal in this neighborhood somewhere) talking to the desktop next to it (in my house) that is in the starting stages of having Debian being loaded onto it?
A friend of mine loaded the fast multimedia/audio focussed Demudi/Agnula kernel on this desktop for me; he has only added a few apps to keep it from 'bloating' up. We had to stop, so it is only half way there. I want to get it up and running further and was wondering if there was simple way to open a connection to my laptop's wireless signal to the net so I could use Apt on the desktop. Is this kind of internet 'train' or 'tunnel' possible?
Other nitty gritty questions: would I want to transfer via a crossover cable (gotta make one also)? If this is possible, what basics things(applets) would I need on both boxes to accomplish this? And, of course, I have the DSL live cd to help.
If this were pretty easy (or even difficult, but with written instructions ..., I would be quite happy.
Any help appreciated. Thank you ahead of time.
